Welcome to the Metroid Headquarters RP Forum! After awhile, we finally got this up. Anyway, I'm just posting this to tell you newbies (no offense) the rules of the RP forum. Oh, and please do not post in this topic!
First off, let's say the basics. D o N o t S p a m ! ! ! I can't express this enough!
Much like in the other forums, don't double/triple/multi-post unless ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!
I'll tell you some stuff you might need to know (terms):
-IC: In Character
-OOC: Out of Character (Use this if you need to say something non-RP related)
-RP: Role Play
-Moding: 'Playing God' and controlling other people's characters (DON'T DO THIS unless you have permission from the owner of the character!)
-Auto: Swinging or attacking and saying you hit without giving the other person/people a chance to react. Don't do this, this just gay-efies the RP fight (Yes, there will be fights in the RPs)
Now, for the juicy stuff: the in-RP rules:
1) BY ALL MEANS, DO NOT MOD!
2) When making a character, don't make him/her/it godly and with no weakness. Everyone has a weakness. Keep that in mind.
3) Don't auto someone. Give them a chance to react!
4) If you do something like "unleash a flurry of attacks" or something like that, the other person/people have every right to dodge at least some of them. Just don't abuse this privelage.
5) Try not to get pissed and throw a hissy fit or something in an RP. An RP is supposed to be fun, try not to get mad over it if something doesn't go your way! This also means, have respect for your fellow RPers! Don't be childish and whine or curse them out in OOC or something like that.
6) Have logical relations. This means, don't talk to a character you don't know like you know him/her/it. This also means only talk/fight/whatever with a character if they're in your vicinity. You can't directly interact with another character if they're on another planet, for example (Well, you could have a comlink or something. Yes, elements like this can be thrown in to improvise).
7) Don't do anything drastic to a character without the owner's permission (Killing another person's character is an example).
8) HAVE FUN! RPs are supposed to be fun, like I said before. If you're not enjoying it, you're not obligated to RP all the time.
Misc. Stuff:
If you want to start a new RP, for whatever reason (Say, you don't like any of the others, or they're too far into them to join in), just post it as a topic, and start it off. Other RPers will probably join in.
Character Making:
Here's a character sheet you can use to build off to make your character:
(PM me this information for your character, and if it qualifies, I'll add it to your list of characters in the characters list.) Oh, and fields with a * by them are optional, you don't have to fill those out.
Name:
Species:
Status/Occupation: (What's your character's job?)
*Height:
*Weight:
Age: (Unknown will work here if your character's age is unknown.)
Eye Color:
Skin Color:
Home Planet: (If it's unknown, just type 'unknown' or something)
Weapons: (What does your character use to fight? List that stuff here)
Other Equipment: (Does your character have armor? Anything else? List that here. Oh, and don't abuse the Power Suit by making too many characters with it.)
Personality: (Tell about your character's personality)
Short History: (A summary of your characters history, please try to keep it from being too long)
Use those categories when making your character.
