Sprite re-coloring is a common practice. Is that banned, too?

It shouldn't be as long as the people say who they took the original sprite from.

Well, put a bit of time into if you do it. Like if there is a sprite sheet, take time to recolor it or something.
For people with photoshop, recoloring isn't really something we can submit since there are several tools on it that will let us recolor an entire sheet with jut a couple clicks.

Fireworks, too, but it's just a tiny bit more tedious than Photoschlopp is. Yes, that's right. Photoschlopp. I trust Macromedia a bit more than I do Adobe. Even though you could do so much more in Photoschlopp than you can in Fireworks, I'm comfortable with FW8.

Frankly Macromedia is owned by Adobe. :P

I don't mind recolors as long as the person doesn't say they don't claim it as their own.

Does one also need to post where one got the images from? Because yeah, some places are demand that.

Just give credit to the person who originally made the image or ripped it or whatever also I would think.

Question, may we ask for art requests here? I would like someone to make a few signatures/avatars for me. I need four: Tails and/or Sonic, Metroid, and general Nerdy Computer/Tech signatures.

If I can make this request, and if anyone would be willing to perform this service for me, please PM me, it's greatly appreciated. I'm not expecting all of them to be done. Just one or the other would be fine with me (But I really want a Tails or Metroid Signature/Avatar). I want to be able represent a few forums, including, and especially this one.
