Title: What was missing from MP2 that you wanted?
Description: Wish there was another Beam or Suit...

GlassPirate - April 24, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done before, but what did you want in MP2 that never made it? How about... a special upgrade to the grapple beam? Like a Dark Grapple Beam or maybe an Explosive Grapple Beam (can freeze people with dark matter and then strangle them with the Dark Grapple Beam, and with the explosive one you can blow enemies up and blow up hard to reach objects! Like maybe blow down a draw bridge from the other side! And on the other side is... a Energy Tank! Everyone likes those!)

Omega Metroid adv - April 25, 2007 12:25 AM (GMT)
Hows about a grapple beam that hooks onto enemies and you can fling them around. and if you can add dark or light energy to your shots, you just switch to whatever beam, and hold the A button, then the matter flies though the grapple beam, and SLAMS 'em hard with whatever.

And-uh-another Phazon suit in that game would've been nice. Like-after you killed Dark Samus a second time, you would've gotten the Phazon suit, and for the Echo Visor, you would've had to solve a puzzle in the dark aerie area, with bomb slots, time limits, boost balling from rail to rail, and spider ball.

DarkSamus - April 25, 2007 12:27 AM (GMT)
No, not puzzles!

lol, I thought it needed a scew attack upgrade.. more jumps, not just 6.

GlassPirate - April 25, 2007 01:08 AM (GMT)
That would be interesting. But it still needs a new beam. how about... A Possesion Beam! (ING WEAPON SYSTEM ALERTZORS!) Take control of any enemy (with exceptions of bosses and minibosses) and kick the crap out of other things with all their abilities and attacks! (That includes getting into a cocoon when possesing a splinter... making a cocoon for baby metroids when your a troid... making war wasp hives to spawn buddies from when you possess one of the buggers. Also, off topic, but if I made a (hopefully) good Metroid RP Topic, who would join? I'm not gonna make it if it would just rot.

Gearmaster - April 25, 2007 01:33 AM (GMT)
I don't think the game needed more it needed LESS. The game kinda broke form the series a bit. Metroids were nay but a passing experience, the way to new and different beams that used an ammo system. And the general feeling of it not being Metroid. The game should have been called Ing Prime 2: Echoes.

Also if you made a topic I would join, I would not stay long most likely as it would degrade very fast being a metroid RPG, whihc is VERY hard to do.

GlassPirate - April 25, 2007 02:30 AM (GMT)
Sadly I Agree. I think just for experimental type stuff I will indeed make one, hopefully today. Also, just in my opinion (I know this sounds terrible) I'm glad there were less troids in MP2. 3D troids scare me! :P I did think that it would be sorta cool if you had more ally's though, after all these games spent alone. Like if U-Mos went out on your little hunt's with you, just for curiosity's sake, it would be interesting to see how he takes care of himself (attacks, abilities) and how he reacts to different things in the game. But I just want to see that for the reason of interested-ness. Also, I too hated the ammo system. It was a real downfall to me. I wanted to use some of the cooler attacks alot more then I was capable of, even with 250 ammo... (Which you don't get until the point where the cool charge combo's aren't even really useful)

maridia waterpark - April 25, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
Speed booster, Spazer, SEPARATE SUPER MISSILE SUPPLY, Spring Ball, Speed Booster, Reserve Tanks, More Speed Booster...

Samus_metroid - April 25, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
No Ammo... :P Tripple jump..

Gearmaster - April 25, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
Less ammo system.
Less dark and light beams.
More Metroids.
Less people named glasspirate being scared of them.
More new Space Pirates.

miles07 - April 26, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
Basically, Nintendo and Retro should've polled for what gamers would want out of Metroid games before they actually make them!
As for the Grapple Beam upgrades, just wait and cross your fingers for MP3...
And yes, there should've been a Spring Ball. Hope they bring it back!

GlassPirate - April 27, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
Yes. Indeed. And Gearmaster, the thing you said about there needing to be more new pirates is probably the best idea i've heard ALL day... why didn't I think of that...

Zeta Blade - May 16, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
Frankly I would just of been happy with a super powerful shock coil lol. It would have been nice in multiplayer to be able to play as U-Mos and like pirate commanders.

PirateQueen - May 16, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
I'd like to have seen very few Luminoth warriors who still lived. It would have been interesting if they'd been able to fight along side you...you know...build up your own little resistance team against the Ing, that way you wouldn't have to fight it ALL yourself. :P

GlassPirate - May 16, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
But we all know that isn't the way of things in the Troidverse. How sad. *crys*

miles07 - June 21, 2007 04:31 AM (GMT)
Maybe they'll change that in MP3C. Who knows..?

Hyper_Shock12 - June 28, 2007 03:55 PM (GMT)
It would have beenawesome if they had added the spring ball, or maybe a phazon suit, but what would have been best is a beam that would like pick up your enemies and use them as ammo, like say you were fighting an ing, you could just suck it up into your cannon, and shoot any ing near their

miles07 - July 2, 2007 04:13 PM (GMT)
The Grapple Beam upgrades in MP3C are supposed to be able to do that "vacuum effect" now, so don't worry too much about that.

The Dark Suit should've been a bit better than it actually was... Not just slowing down the effects of the Dark Air and adding defensive strength. They should've added something else...

gilsthelizard - July 12, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
they should of done what mp 1 did and have at the near end a spical beam :metroid: :samus:

miles07 - July 12, 2007 05:56 PM (GMT)
They did! Well, sort of...

They did! Well, sort of...

whats the name of the beam???just asking cause i would like to here about it

miles07 - July 12, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
Well, it was a version of the Phazon Beam, where Samus has to... well...
*SPOILERS*:
During the last battle against Dark Samus, she sometimes shoots little bits of Phazon at you. When locked-on to her, the targeting reticule goes up a bit, off of her. Charging a Power Beam shot will draw these bits into the cannon. Three particles will supercharge Samus' Power Beam charged shot, and releasing it at Dark Samus will give massive damage. That's kinda the only way to beat her with time to spare during the escape sequence.

See ^ here.

Gearmaster - July 12, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
Yeha but thats not a beam, its a charged shot.

miles07 - July 12, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)

...Well, sort of...

^^ That's what I meant.

gilsthelizard - July 13, 2007 11:18 AM (GMT)
oh another thing thats missing from mp2,they should have added enemies in multiplayer to make it challeging :samus: :metroid:

miles07 - July 13, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
Or bots, like in Hunters. That would've been better.

gilsthelizard - July 13, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
doesent matter at least make multiplayer challinging

miles07 - July 13, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
How about... METROIDS RUNNING FREE!!!! GAH!

gilsthelizard - July 13, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
oh god thats really bad,or the choice of how manly-100 free :metroid: = pain and destruction

miles07 - July 13, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)
Well, what about the First Hunt demo? Well, those weren't really Metroids... But at least in Echoes Multiplayer everyone has the Morph Ball and Bombs. The Dark Beam would be a lifesaver.

gilsthelizard - July 13, 2007 06:12 PM (GMT)
you already get the the dark beam in echoes multiplayer...is that what you meant?

miles07 - July 13, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah. I meant that if there were Metroids loose in Echoes Multiplayer, the Dark Beam is the best weapon.

gilsthelizard - July 13, 2007 07:17 PM (GMT)
when you charge it yeah but missels are easyer against
:metroid: metroids :metroid:

Gendreavus - July 14, 2007 05:51 AM (GMT)
What was missing in Prime 2? How about what it had that it shouldn't have had? Like a hub-system for the areas. The fact that the Temple Grounds was your primary route from one area to the next made the game feel incredibly unnatural. The Hub-system is the reason that Majora's mask will never be as good as the Ocarina of Time, and the reason I sold Hunters back to EB Games. It is also the reason I'm worried about Corruption...the way Retro has been talking about travelling to multiple planets...it sounds way too much like Hunters...

ALSO! The puzzles needed to be much more...puzzling. I don't remember being stumped by a puzzle once in that game. Sure the enemies (i.e. Spider guardian) may have killed me while I was trying to do the puzzle, but I never wondered "How on earth do I do this?" That goes for bosses too. Sure there were some tough ones, but as soon as you scan it you know exactly how to fight it, avoid its attacks, and beat it. I'm all for scanning giving you hints, but a lot of them just beat you over the head with the tactics you need to use...a part of me says that boss scans should be marked as incomplete in your log book until you beat them, and then the download finishes.

*vanishes*

miles07 - July 14, 2007 06:21 AM (GMT)
Well, cross your fingers for Corruption, then.

gilsthelizard - July 14, 2007 11:16 AM (GMT)
dont double cross them, and hope for the best...

miles07 - July 19, 2007 04:57 AM (GMT)
Um, wha? What do you mean by that, Gils?

StrafeHunter - May 31, 2008 01:03 PM (GMT)
Metroid prime 2 should have had elite pirates, i mean, come on, there is phazon on dark aether and they have been there, so why no elite pirates?

also your gun should change when you get dark or light suit, why does it always stay the same?

when you got all the beam ammo expantions, you should get infinate ammo, but then again it would make the final boss too easy, you could just pummel it with infinate annihalator.

also you should get dark and light and annihalator morph ball bombs.

dark and light missile combos could have been better, they are so slow they hardly hit anything.

At least they had sonic boom (best weapon ability in any metroid game)
one shot and KABOOM!!! Everything is dead!

Dramentia - September 29, 2008 10:23 PM (GMT)
1.More of the Luminoth (U-MOS was so cool, I think I watched his video on youtube about a good 100 times)
2.More power to the light side by this I mean in the war with the Ing
3. More places to visit
4. Less of the Space Pirates (If they were so interested in Phazon, why suddenly deal with dark energy?)
5. less confusing maps and less of the backtracking garbage.

Tyler - September 29, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
I got something I didn't want in MP2: limited ammo. Missles...that's ok. But your beams? Oh come on.

miles07 - September 29, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
That's why I like the Multiplayer Bonus effects. Every once in a while, it's infinite Beam Ammo. Hehe... Annihilator WRRYY!!!
