I found out that Aether was the greek god of light and upper air.

Fitting. Seeing as that the Light of Aether is what powers the world, and that the Great Temple in high in the sky... Maybe they did that on purpose..?

I sure nintendo did it on purpose. I was on the super smash brothers dojo site and one of the Characters had a Special Move was called Arther. So yes nintendo did do it on purpose.

well nintendo clearly knew that aether was the name of a greek god of light and gave planet Aether its name cuase it was a planet of light.
