Thought we had a topic for this already... Aw well, yeah, I think it might actually mean something. But I'm just really hopeful.
Gendreavus - September 2, 2007 01:31 AM (GMT)
My guess is that Retro wanted to tease us with something. *points at 100% ending*
*vanishes*
AhAhA - September 2, 2007 01:36 AM (GMT)
I already made a topic about this... But I hope Dread is made.

It's at General Metroid Discussion.
Dragon - September 2, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
They are probably hinting at Metroid: Dread. I mean, i could be coincidential, but what are the chances? The game never even mentions this "Metroid Project 'Dread'" anywhere else, so it has to do something with that game.
Faroe - September 14, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
I have heard 2 things: MP4 and a metroid fusion 2 (as in dread gets finished after MF).
miles07 - September 20, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
Hehe, that's funny... Sylux in Dread? Hopefully.
I just popped in. I'm gone now.
Fraroc - June 24, 2008 09:37 PM (GMT)
They Already Confirmed that Metroid Dread is cancelled. It was just a coincedence.
Anubis - June 24, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
This topic is eight years old.
KillPanzer - June 24, 2008 10:43 PM (GMT)
Didn't I clear Dread up? Yeah, had a conversation with glasspirate about it.
Hudson Platt - June 25, 2008 05:17 AM (GMT)
*sigh* Why can't people just read post dates. I don't think anyone reads the rules anymore.....
GlassPirate - June 25, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
Conversation?
With... ME?!
ZOMG, YAY! ^_^
..Sorry, anyway, yah, this topic is pretty old, but no harm done. Just remember to check post dates.
I believe I did the exact same thing when I first got here.
Hudson Platt - June 25, 2008 05:31 AM (GMT)
Lolz. Does Glass feel loved now? Here, have a cookie.
miles07 - June 28, 2008 02:21 AM (GMT)
Even better. Have a slice of pie.
Lucifuga - June 28, 2008 08:10 PM (GMT)
I don't believe in Dread. It's too late for the GBA and they would only make another Hunters on the DS.
As for the WiiWare...No.
miles07 - June 29, 2008 12:50 AM (GMT)
Well, who knows. They made three Kirby games with the same engine, two on the GBA and one on the DS. Why can't they do that for Metroid?
Lucifuga - June 29, 2008 11:26 AM (GMT)
Those three Kirby games have something in common: They are all pretty bad(What I mean is that there is way better Kirby games). Same as Fusion. Except that Fusion wasn't that bad, it was pretty good. But I don't like it, much.
If they make a new 2D Metroid on the DS, it would be great. Just look at how pretty other 2D DS games look.
Or they just screw that and make a New Super Metroid.
miles07 - June 30, 2008 06:14 PM (GMT)
Super Metroid Redux? AWESOME!
Morejatroid - June 30, 2008 06:40 PM (GMT)
uhm... do you remember the story that came out they got a name from project dread o something?
EDIT: now i got it"!!! it was corruption...
miles07 - July 1, 2008 12:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah, you could've seen that at the first post. Trying to return to the topic, Morejatroid?
Adorios The Metalloid Assasin - July 13, 2008 10:21 PM (GMT)
for all of those who know what i'm talking about, just think back to the 100% cutscene of mp3, starring sylux. dread is obviously about the metroid powered weapon that the space pirates are making. and the shock coil was the weapon that helped the space pirates create the dread weapon. it sucks the energy out of you, like a METROID!!!
StrafeHunter - July 13, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
And maybe, this weapon needs phazon to work to its full potential, as the pirates were making it before Samus destroyed phaaze. As Samus was completely corrupted, the code for phazon still remains in her DNA, Sylux is sent to capture her. I will post my full story idea sometime later.
Tana - July 14, 2008 12:35 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't be surprised if Dread would be a sequal to Hunters seeing how Hunters really didn't end officially as far as the other hunters go. It would be great to be able to play as the other hunters in an official story line, each with their own path. Of coarse, it appears that Sylux will probably be playing a big role in the next Metroid game. I just hope its for Wii....

Why must you best me so?
miles07 - July 14, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
@ Hudson: Hehe...
On-topic: The Shock-Coil/Hunter-Metroid weapon? Unlikely. The "coding" for Phazon? Eliminated once the Aurora Unit 313 was destroyed.
I really hope that instead, Dread will be the official remake of Metroid 2...
StrafeHunter - July 14, 2008 06:44 PM (GMT)
or, as was said before, a super metroid remake, maybe for wiiware...
Sylux125 - July 14, 2008 09:32 PM (GMT)
Or mabye Nintendo's gonna stall even more for a fusion sequel. Mabye this time they'll make it between Super Metroid and Fusion, like the..... Last Phazon Trilogy, which explaisn what happened to all the phazon the federaiton had and the other planets that were infected by leviathans. I hope not, but meh, anything for a new metroid game
Kuro-chan - July 14, 2008 10:28 PM (GMT)
Stalling has benefits.
I would be worried about Nintendo flooding the market with too many Metroid games to the point people start losing interest in them because they are all "Just the same, anyway".
I feel that is what ended up happening with the Mario series. There are just too many Mario games as I see it and a total lack of incentive to get them... And I an kinda feeling the same way about Final Fantasy given how many times they have to keep porting the same game to a different system and change one thing about it to make it look "Different".
It might frustrate up fans, but look at the end results of the stall from '94 to '02: We got Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime. (Both games rate highly in my books, Prime moreso)... Then they kept pumping out more and more and we started seeing a decline in quality, with the exception of Metroid Prime Corruption, though it has legitimate criticisms of its' own.
miles07 - July 15, 2008 03:18 AM (GMT)
So, Nintendo is sending Metroid back into hibernation? NOO!
PhazonBall - July 21, 2008 10:34 PM (GMT)
I hope Metroid Dread comes out because I hear people say it's cancelled.
miles07 - July 22, 2008 12:09 AM (GMT)
Well, technically, it is. Because Nintendo said so.
mma: metroid addicts anynomous - December 14, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
what is wrong with nintendo?!?!?!? playing a cruel, sick joke like this? man, i was getting excited about dread. it sounded awesome too. <_< :( >_> :samus:
StrafeHunter - December 14, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
Actually I don't think it was nintendo who started it. I think it was a joke article in some gaming magazine.

If micrsoft got a hold of metroid it would be awsome and bad at the same time. The game would be shorter but yet it would be in hd.
fly_boy42 - December 14, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
do you want metroid to end up like banjo-kazooie?
Do you want a wise cracking bird in samus's backpack?
StrafeHunter - December 14, 2008 05:13 PM (GMT)
Miles07 - December 15, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
It all depends on how Nintendo will go about doing a game like that...
kenji imatake - December 16, 2008 12:28 AM (GMT)
I wounder if the nintendo people are reading everything we post and thinking "Heh, what idiots... there aren't going to be anymore metroid games for the next 20 years or so..." D: or... maybe nintendo forgot about the metroid series...
