Title: A Step Forward!
MetroidMaster1914 - April 1, 2008 04:51 AM (GMT)
As many of you are aware, Metroid Headquarters had experienced remarkable growth since its inception in the summer of 2004. It started as a forum, then it got a website, and now it's one of the leading Metroid communities on the World Wide Web. But, personally, I've always found that online only places are a bit non-personal; they don't give you that "Hi, I'm here to help" feel. Well, my friends, with the following announcement, all of that is about to change.

You're looking at the new headquarters building for Metroid Headquarters. With the rapid influx of donations that MHQ gets daily, the staff was able to purchase and use an office building in downtown Houston. Renovations are almost complete, we hope to be up and running by the end of the year! We were also able to get MHQ the legal status of a corporation, as recognized by the United States government. Obviously, many of you are shocked, and have lots of questions. I'm here to help answer them.
Q: Why buy a building? Isn't a website enough?
A: We feel that having a physical building to serve as MHQ's headquarters is the next logical step in MHQ's growth and development. Other website only companies such as YouTube and Buy.com have these, and we feel that MHQ is now big enough to have one of it's own.
Q: You say MHQ is now a company, does that mean jobs are available?
A: Yes and no. For obvious reasons, most of the higher end managerial jobs are already taken, (ex. MetroidMaster1914 - CEO, Gendreavus - CFO, Shrander - VP of Sales, etc.) however for a good portion of the lower end jobs (ex. maintenance, graphic designer, web developer, communications monitor) applicants are welcome! They need to simply email a resume to any of the above mentioned staff member, and if you seem qualified, an interview will be arranged. All interviews will be held in person in Houston, Texas, and, should you get the job, you will be required to move to Houston. Any further questions on this matter should be directed towards Axion - VP of Employment.
Q: What's next for MHQ?
A: After our headquarters gets settled in and jobs are steady, we will be looking to broaden our target audience by advertising in more offline forms, such as billboards, commercials, and clothing. Public endorsements by well known people are also a possibility, although it is still being discussed. We also plan to go public on the NYSE in a few years' time.
As more question arise regarding this announcement, more Frequently Asked Questions will be added.
What the future holds for MHQ is virtually limitless, and we cannot wait to see what it will bring!
Sincerely,
Elias "MetroidMaster1914" Thompson
CEO Metroid Headquarters

Shrander - April 1, 2008 11:02 PM (GMT)
Well, since I am working now, when do I get my first paycheck?
Dragon - April 1, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
MHQ is growing. After said building is complete, MHQ will recruit new and willing members to help our community grow. As we begin to grow ever larger, the next logical step will be- you guessed it- world domination. We are proud to inform you that the MHQ Army has officially been established! Our men in New York have already bought the Statue of Liberty and are using it as an underground recruitment center for willing MHQ soldiers. I, Dragon, is proud to announce: MHQ's New Community. Coming 2012.
Anubis - April 2, 2008 02:40 AM (GMT)
Don't forget to mention we might need some sculptures to make a varia suite for Lady Liberty.
MetroidMaster1914 - April 2, 2008 03:46 AM (GMT)
Don't be silly Dragon, that picture of the Statue of Liberty was clearly photoshopped...

Gendreavus - April 4, 2008 01:19 AM (GMT)

GammaMetroid - April 13, 2008 06:09 PM (GMT)
Sylux im 14 and im working already ^^ but that has nothing to do with this but anyways it wouldnt be "impossible" for you to get work xD but that of course depends on what the bigger staff "allows" some companys you gotta be 18, some 13 ^_^ I think it would be kinda hard to get a job at this place if you are under age of 18
Ohh Yea
Congrats mhq
Gendreavus - April 16, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
It used to be that people under the age of 13 could get jobs too, but once we found out what Michael Jackson was doing with his branch, we had to shut it down.
GammaMetroid - April 16, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
Yea that keeps going through my mind if i should stop working becouse of that but hey i get money MONEY MOOOOOONEY!!!

Sylux125 - April 24, 2008 12:43 AM (GMT)
Sorry MHQ but I live in Canada so I won't be flying for 4 hours just to give you coffee.
Oh and I don't want to be a party pooper, but what's MHQ actually going to DO? Like to pay the bills? Cosco sells stuff, 7/11 sells stuff, the government tries to run the country. Whats MHQ gonna do?
metroid33 - April 24, 2008 10:34 PM (GMT)
Everything you mentioned, plus more, and check this out, WE'RE GOING TO DO IT EVEN BETTER THAN ANYONE CAN EVER DO!!!!!!!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Gendreavus - April 26, 2008 04:00 AM (GMT)
We provide the general public with a really nice building to look at. That's a service worth paying for, and you know that they will be. Everybody within a 50 mile radius of the city will have an "Awesome MHQ" tax which pays to keep that awesome MHQ building there. All the while, we sit inside said building and talk about video games, play video games, make new fangames, and eat food. It's a hard job, but some dedicated online community has to do it, so we will.
GlassPirate - April 27, 2008 08:07 PM (GMT)
We should also sell Member action figures so people can have pieces of us, and I demand that we have remixes of the 9th level of Doom II play in the elevators and fitness centers. =D
Kuro-chan - April 27, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
"The Pit"? That level music? Hmm...
I believe the title of it is "Into Sandy's City"
My action figure is my current avatar: Kuro-chan, the Angel of Darkness. A dark and psionic counter-part who does not take invasion of her territory lightly... It just so happens Space Pirates invaded her turf, so it was time to have some fun.

Sylux125 - May 2, 2008 12:56 AM (GMT)
Honestly how the hell are you gonna pay the bills? I'm probably make the BEST SAMUS CLAY SCULPTURE EVA!! on sale for 10$ while supplies last, but seriously what are you gonna do? Oh and Dragon? recruting an army for world domination take money. I personnally reccommend a government job.
GlassPirate - May 2, 2008 02:54 AM (GMT)
Samus clay sculpture? Blah on Samus. She gets all the Troid-y attention. What we need are grand amethyst Pirate busts and stained glass windows of Count Bleck. Plus, we need a seperate building called the "Church of Kracko", so we can perform our worship easily.
And we need pants that make popcorn. Like on the Amanda Show. >_>
Gendreavus - May 2, 2008 05:36 AM (GMT)
Those were my favorite pants ever. I would be the second most popular person in the whole company if I had those pants. That's my goal in life now.

I have a question... Is this serious? Because 1. It looks like a fake building; 2. There's no way you can afford such office space; 3. ... I don't understand how you're a company... Who's going to manage stocks? How are you going to finance you're company? What exactly is the purpose of this company? And did it ever occur to you that a forum titled "Metroid Headquarters" is okay, but that a company--COMPANY--titled "METROID HEADQUARTERS" can lead to, possibly, accusation of fraud by Nintendo? Don't confuse a lot of questions with mad, I'm not, I just want to know whether this is a joke, or serious, because if it's latter, then you best consider the questions above.

Are you insane? Of course it's real! Why would we joke about this kind of thing? Now, perhaps Glass was joking around with the whole worship/stained glass stuff, but as far as the building goes, then heck yes, it's real!
Kraid 2 cool - May 7, 2008 05:04 PM (GMT)
If it was fake, why would it be posted on April the 1st?
metroid33 - May 7, 2008 08:06 PM (GMT)
I know! *sigh* The nerve of some people!
