Title: -~MHQ Community Thread: Phazon Version~-
Dragon - June 21, 2008 11:13 PM (GMT)
-~-~Metroid Headquarters Community Thread~-~-
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~Phazon Enhanced Edition-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
As MHQ Staff takes some time to look into ways to improve the community, we have noticed that there have been several topics locked due to them not not being deserving of their own thread. Well, in an attempt to stop said topics from seeing the light of day, we have come together to give a go at the first Metroid Headquarters Community Thread! Now, in all honesty, the idea of having a CT or 'General Purpose Thread' have been rejected in the past, and this shall function as a test of sorts to see how things go.
The CT is supposed to be a laid back place, but there are, of course, rules. Please note that this is NOT A PLACE FOR SPAM! If mindless spam gets out of control, we've got an 'abuse it and lose it' type of deal. Here are the basic principals to follow:
* The purpose of this thread is for off-topic conversations for MHQ citizens to take part in, and just to chat about whatever's on your mind. Don't let off-topicness be confused with Spam, your posts must have some meaning to them.
*Forum rules still apply. That means no double posting (unless necessary), no flaming, and no trolling. Nobody likes a troll, and if one should arise, DO NOT feed the troll and ignore it instead.
*Posts which break the rules will be edited or deleted.
*Dragon recommends that all members keep it real.
With all of that being said, sit down, grab a cold drink, order pizza, and enjoy the thread. ^_^

So, this is a place to just talk about anything that you want to say, hmm this might be good, i support this then! :D
Anubis - June 23, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
I have one problem with this thread.
Its abuse of the tilde.
Seriously, were they on sale at the noob-mart?
ZING!
Seriously though.
Check this sucker out.
Prepare to have your mind blown.
Those with a weak heart must immediately look away, close their internet browser, punch their computer screen, and perform triple bypass surgery on their selves.

Wow, I never would have expected to see that in there. XD
reminds me back in the ol' days when Disney would sneak
naughty things into their child movies. Good times...
Gendreavus - June 23, 2008 07:06 PM (GMT)
I caught that when I was watching it a couple days ago with my cousins. Then I promptly forgot about it and went about my everyday life. That saddens me.
Dragon - June 23, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
So... It's Sonic's Birthday today, I think. Who's going to grab the chips and carbonated drinks? Should we even really be celebrating? I remember back when I first got a Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog for my birthday. Back then, Sonic was my favorite video game character.
So Happy Birthday, the punk should have stayed dead in Sonic 06.
Anubis - June 23, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Celebrating Sonic's birthday today is like celebrating the movie "Land Before Time."
Sure, they both kicked butt when they first came out, but now they make us all wish we could die by getting trampled by 10,000 elephants while being eaten alive from the inside by some parasite.
I recommend you just sit down and pray someone kills those two franchises. Even though it may already be too late to save them from sinking any lower.
Unless......They make a "Land Before Time" TV show featuring Sonic...

Every dream I have had over the past months has involved me and me being back in school.
The dreams are going to drive me nuts.
I do miss school though, terribly apparently.
anti-prime - June 24, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
the only thing i miss is being sent to the office twice a day...it was a good workout... and i love to see the principle PO'd
Anubis - June 24, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
I've got a question.
Does anyone know of any good free online storage services?
I've done my own search and found some possible good sites. I want to know if anyone here has any recommendations or if there is some sort of awesome-to-the-max hidden website out there that only cool kids know about.
Gendreavus - June 25, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
There's always Megaupload or Rapidshare where you host your stuff to download. Just be sure to read the terms that they give you on what has to happen for the file to stay.
Then there's also
Gspace, where you use your Gmail space as online hard drive space. That, combined with creating tons of Gmail accounts pretty much means infinite storage.
Anubis - June 25, 2008 04:50 AM (GMT)
I'm looking for something a bit manageable than rapidshare. That Gspace looks nice, but I got enough gmail accounts to keep track of.
StrafeHunter - June 25, 2008 03:59 PM (GMT)
I just had the coolest physics lesson ever! We are doing astronamy so what we got to do was make our own alien that lives on a planet in the solar system! :D
I invented the spider-worm that lives on pluto. I'll post the full details about it in my
Mutant Lab topic.
Hudson Platt - June 25, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
Hey everyone. Welcome me, WELCOME MEEEEEEE!!!
Anyway, hey everyone. Also, sweet, Strafe! Before school let out for me, we had to take an existing animal and show it evolve (or de-evolve) 25 million years. I wish I still had it. It was sweet.
I had an otter that evolved into a more muscular, land-based quadruped.
Then it evolved into something a little more similar. It had longer arms and legs and was about the size of a human. It grew fangs and became more carnivorous. It was still land-based
The third stage was awesome. It had a longer tail that acted as a paddle and the arms grew to extreme size in proportion to its now skeletal, hairless body. One of my favourites about it was that it had these external esophagi to "suck up" animals that would fit in there, since it was now sea based.
Finally, it turned into Clover. He was about 250 ft. high, had air sacs on the sides of his head that enabled him to breath on land, but still had gills that enabled him to travel underwater. His arms were about the length of his body (minus the tail), which is about 280 ft. long. They went upward, until they reached the elbow. Then the arms when downward.
Clover's legs are like that of a space pirates. I forget the term for this style of legs, but the bend back at the knee and go back to the calf, then go inward at a slight angle until they reach the ankle.
Jesus.... Sorry, I got on something that was fun and it made me rant...
StrafeHunter - June 25, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)
I think I saw a program about that, evolution in the future, I think it was called "The future is wild"
Oh, and welcome :D
Lucifuga - June 25, 2008 06:55 PM (GMT)
So this is like Gendreavus' General Discussion Topic only Phazon Enhanced?
StrafeHunter - June 25, 2008 08:06 PM (GMT)
I guess the other one died and phazon makes everything cooler
Lucifuga - June 25, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
Seriously you guys. I'm getting Brawl very soon. Please send me your Wii Numbers. I'm begging you!
I've heard many bad things about Brawl lately. Like Trippin', cheap characters(Sonic) and I also happened to come across some very disturbing mini-novels starring Zero-Suit Samus...
Is Brawl really that good/bad? I'm sure it can't be as good as many says, but not as bad as others say.
Dragon - June 25, 2008 09:35 PM (GMT)
It can be fun to play, more so when you have a friend over to play it with. I particularly enjoy doing co-op Boss Battles myself. Though there is one thing I do not like... Online is HORRIBLE. Its plagued with frequent error codes and disconnects, and when you manage to get a game working, it usually lags, which can kill any fun that may have come out of it.
Gendreavus - June 25, 2008 10:01 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, I
figured out why Sonic was screaming in that picture!
As far as Brawl goes, I love the game. I haven't played it online yet, so I can't really comment on that, but the single and local multiplayer experience is awesome. I never really got used to the wiimote/nunchuck or just wiimote controls, but the Gamecube controller works just as well as it used to, which is really well. The only problem I've had with it is that I keep my Wii on top of my TV...which is far away from the chair I sit in...meaning that I have to move it onto the floor to play Brawl, just like I have to do with VC games. Oh well.
anti-prime - June 25, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
sonic pwnt by chainsaw... PHAIL
Lucifuga - June 25, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
When I saw that picture I remembered something. I hate Sonic. Sonic sucks balls. Still I'm thrilled about Unleashed.
About Brawl: I've also heard about the crappy Online play, but atleast normal 4 player matches are great.
Sylux125 - June 26, 2008 07:23 PM (GMT)
Well, this is to answer Lucifuga's strange question in MHQ photo album. he asked, whats so great about females. Well, if you can't see whats so great aobut females then you're either 8 and below, or 65+ or homo. If you aren't in any of these three catagories, i'm sure anti-prime would tell you why chick's are great
anti-prime - June 26, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
lol... i'd rather not go into details... >_>
Lucifuga - June 26, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
I find it annoying that you would actually think that someone is homosexual(even if it was a joke) just because someone(like me) is not all that interested in females.
I'm happy with being single and free. I don't think I would want a girlfriend. I'd rather have a girl as a friend.
Samus Oran - June 27, 2008 06:31 PM (GMT)
I agree completely. There is nothing wrong with not being interested in females. Its a personal choice, or sometimes its not even a choice.
StrafeHunter - June 27, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
If you aren't interested in females and are not in Sylux's categories then you fail at being a human.
Of course, that assumes you are human...
But, then again, I wouldn't understand, as I have never had a girlfreind and am debatably human.
Lucifuga - June 27, 2008 07:13 PM (GMT)
I'm not saying I'm not interested in girls at all. It's just that every girl I met(almost) just are so very boring and they're all the same.
Anyway...
I just realized that there is about two weeks until the big party. MHQ's 4th Anniversery!
It feels like it was yesterday we were celebrating the 3rd. Time just flows away.
I've been here for three whole years now.
anti-prime - June 27, 2008 07:21 PM (GMT)
i started another fight xD settle down people its ok if Lucifuga doesnt like girls... lol
Dragon - June 27, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
People who have these standards really annoy me. They sit around, eating their frosted flakes, thinking such absurd thoughts like, "he doesn't have a girlfriend, he must be a loser lol", "He's still a virgin, noob lolo", or "You don't want to penetrate a random girl u must be homo."
I've never liked these people in life, because they come off as extremely arrogant and make it seem like they think they're better than you, like you don't quite "match up to their standards."
Plus, what Lucifuga and SO are saying isn't really that hard to believe these days. Honestly, girls just seem completely stupid and / or unattractive now. The stereotype for "hot" that most people use is so generic and boring, I'm not attracted to it at all. And take into account that the girls here like moronic or abusive boyfriends because the "excitement", "passion", and "chemistry".
Girls are all into "thug football players" (no joke, I overheard a girl say that), dressing slutty, and acting whore-ish, it's simply a major turn-off. So I guess that's it. I can honestly say that I'm not interested a good 90 something percent of females. It just means that what I consider 'good qualities' are too hard to come by these days, and it's starting to seem like a waste of time looking.
Shrander - June 27, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
To go along with what Dragon has to say, in that 10% that left, probably just 2% would be interested in you if that, so for people like us, tis like the average Joe trying to find Bin Laden.

I wasn't joined then but I might have to miss this party as over here it will be five in the morning and I will have school :( , It sucks because the week after will be my summer holidays, so it will be like time is laughing at me!

Experience. Simple as that. I understand Bowser all too well here.
In my situation, I had to deal with thieves, stalkers, cheaters, attitude problems, dominating-style personalities... There are too many scary ones out there.
Gendreavus - June 27, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Funniest thing just happened. I was browsing the forum, then my 9 year old brother came to see what I was doing. He saw Lucifuga's avatar and just stood there. He asked "is that...supposed to be Bowser?" to which I told him yes. Then, hiding his head in his hands, he just said "WHY does that have to be Bowser?!" Since then, every time one of his posts come up, he hides. While he hides, I laugh at him. It's funny.
miles07 - June 28, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
So, what, he's scared at the T.V. show version of Bowser Koopa? At 9? Lolz. Show him a few episodes while he's glued to a chair in front of the screen, sit back, and enjoy the show. Your brother, I mean, not the T.V. show... although that could work, too.

True. But there is that 10%. However 5% of them are unatractive. But there's that remaining 5%. And there's this really nice, personality positive girl who I actually do like, come to think of it.... And for those of you who do remember, this isn't the smae girl i asked you guys for tips to asking to the dance
Dragon - June 29, 2008 11:31 PM (GMT)
Good luck with that 5%, kid. I think I might as well say I'm out of the race for now.
