Title: So how many times have YOU played through?

MetaSamus - September 9, 2008 12:48 AM (GMT)
Just finished my 7th playthrough (3rd 100%) just a second ago.

Everyone else?

PhazonSpiffy - September 9, 2008 01:23 AM (GMT)
Once. I'm still focusing on Echos, and I've done Corruption twice.

Zero Mission is a whole nother story though...

miles07 - September 9, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
Prime 1: Thrice. I've only counted the 100% completions. Once on Hard Mode, 100%.

Echoes: Thrice on 100%. None on Hard Mode.

Corruption: So far, once. 100%, first try. On Easy only. Currently working on Veteran Mode.

Gendreavus - September 9, 2008 06:57 AM (GMT)
I used to try to speedrun Prime and Zero Mission, so I've lost count of how many times I've beat them...let's just go with "more times than is healthy, but not enough to get a decent time."

By the way, good to see you again Meta!

StrafeHunter - September 9, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
I'm playing prime again... 100%? At least 5 times... maybe more... I beat the final boss for fun! (That is not counted in the 5, I counted full playthroughs)

Lucifuga - September 9, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
I've only played through the Prime games once. On normal. It was great.
I love them, but I never really feel like playing Prime. I don't know why.
As for other games such as Super Metroid, I've played through it about 8 times.
I've also played through Zero Mission a dozen of times.
The Metroid game I've spend the least time playing would be Metroid 2. I barely got through it once and I won't be playing that for some time.

I might start playing Prime again. Go for faster times, higher percent. I need to play something except for Tales of Symphonia.
Whatever happened to the Speed Run thread?

Gendreavus - September 11, 2008 06:39 AM (GMT)
That was on the Zero Mission board.

PhazonSpiffy - September 12, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)

Corruption: So far, once. 100%,

I'm missing one freakin item, the last energy tank. I've searched everywhere, but it must be somewhere on the Valhalla... but then again...

There is a glitch right? About how it will say 98% even though I only have one item left?

miles07 - September 12, 2008 04:10 AM (GMT)
Um, not that I know of. Unless you have yet to Right Omega Ridley. The most recent you can make sure you get 100% is to get EVERY tank before fighting Omega Ridley, then fight him to get the Phazon Grapple. That would be the 100th item.

I think I know your problem, It could be the one in ice bryyo at the top of a spider ball track...

miles07 - September 12, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
Not an energy tank. Check on Metroid Recon. It has all the tank placement locations.

All right, then it's not on the Valhalla.

And thanks, StrafeHunter, I'll check Byro.

StrafeHunter - September 13, 2008 07:00 AM (GMT)
I know that bcause I was in the same position, I found a guide and, surprise, surprise, it was on Ice bryyo, because unless your there there is no way to access the map for it...

miles07 - September 13, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
Yeah, there is one in Bryyo Ice. Spider Ball puzzle. One of the better ones, at that.

Faroe - October 19, 2008 09:31 PM (GMT)
I've played through about 6 times, I can't get enough of it! I think it's the best of the three!

miles07 - October 20, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
Have you, uh, gotten every credit yet, Faroe?

Faroe - October 23, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)

Thats in Metroid Prime 3, and nope! I do have a lot, but thats just cause I haven't used any :P

miles07 - October 23, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
Hehe... Well, if you're trying to unlock everything with the credits... Save the soundtracks for last, 'kay? Those are really the unimportant ones, since you can simply download them to your computer instead...

StrafeHunter - October 24, 2008 08:43 AM (GMT)
I learnt that lesson.... But at least they don't need friend credits....

Adorios The Metalloid Assasin - October 25, 2008 03:58 AM (GMT)
I Want the Bobble head.

MP1: 3 times, none 100%
Mp2: once. afterwords, the game stopped working.
MP3: Twice on easy, almost done with veteran.

Still want the bobble head, because my Mii is ZS samus.
That and Snapshot tool.

Kuro-chan - October 27, 2008 06:21 PM (GMT)
MP1:

4x Normal, 1x 100% Items.
1x Hard (UGH), 1x 100% Items.

MP2:

1x Normal, 0x 100% Items (And once is enough for me...)

MP3:

4x Normal, 4x 100% Items.
2x Veteran, 2x 100% Items.
1x Hyper Mode, 1x 100% Items.

Sylux125 - October 28, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
MP1-dont have :(
mp2- dont have :(
mp3-3 times easy, working on veteran. o right and one time low percentage

StrafeHunter - October 28, 2008 09:41 AM (GMT)
MP1: Lots, lost count, I play it 100% for fun

MP2: Quite a few times, but less than MP1

MP3: Several times on easy, once on veteran and i'm still doing hyper...

Adorios The Metalloid Assasin - October 28, 2008 01:30 PM (GMT)
How hard is hyper?

MP1: just beat it again.

Kuro-chan - October 28, 2008 09:13 PM (GMT)
It took me 65 minutes from landing on Phaaze to beating DS/313, knowing I could have lost at any second. Does that help at all?

miles07 - October 29, 2008 04:15 AM (GMT)
Well. How long does it usually take for you, Kuro? For comparison.

Kuro-chan - October 29, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
Well, my last time I played on normal, it could not have been 20 or 25 minutes tops. I mean, I literally ripped through Dark Samus and 313 like they were target practice. Gandrayda took longer than anyone else.

miles07 - October 29, 2008 10:07 PM (GMT)
Yes, Gandrayda is one pain in the neck. She keeps jumping around... AND WON'T STOP!!! Wah hah...

fly_boy42 - October 29, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
No only is she hard to beat (yes, please stop moving and using that fan thing), but she is the creepiest thing related to MP for four reasons
1: one
2: Gandrayda is too close to gendreavus
3: she made me realize that samus is long for sam
4: death scene

kenji imatake - October 30, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
I am bad at prime 3... Gandrayda was actually the easiest of the three hunters... Rundas was the hardest... but that's just me =P my best time was 14 hours and 56 min. items were 65% Ive only played it once..........

StrafeHunter - October 30, 2008 01:41 PM (GMT)
All the bosses are easy for me, and I found gandrayda the hardest and rundas the easiest, I beat him on hyper in one hypermode use, I did use corrupt hypermode though...

fly_boy42 - October 30, 2008 02:00 PM (GMT)
That's the same order that I ranked them in.

wait rundas? I meant ghor. I wouldn't stop dying to Rundas, ghor just kinda sat there.
Did you ever notice that Rundas seemed different from the other hunters? Like his corruption?

StrafeHunter - October 30, 2008 03:42 PM (GMT)
Yeah, he seemed less corrupt and less intelligent, like he fought it so Dark Samus destroyed his mind....

miles07 - November 4, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)

Difficulty level:

Easiest: Gandrayda
Medium: Ghor
Hardest: Rundas.

On account of that one attack of Rundas's where he makes a giant ice pillar and swings it around over his head, right before he throws it at you. And even though it doesn't land too close by, it damages you.
THAT was the only five times I've died on Veteran Mode. Stupid Rundas...

If anything, though, he's smarter (and stronger?) than the other hunters. Just 'cuz he doesn't talk does NOT mean he's any worse off because of the corruption, right?

Maybe he was corrupted first. Maybe because of his battlelust he entered Hypermode more often than the others while fighting against Space Pirates. And that's when it happened.

StrafeHunter - November 4, 2008 06:11 PM (GMT)
None of them really used hypermode... not like me... :ph43r:

fly_boy42 - November 4, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
I think his strong morals made him fight the corruption to the point that dark samus just plain possessed him

miles07 - November 5, 2008 05:40 AM (GMT)
But that doesn't explain how he became corrupted earlier (seemingly) than the other two. Gandrayda might've been the last one corrupted because she had to have sent off the communications device to tell the Federation before she was fully corrupted, so...

kenji imatake - November 12, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
also, rundas had a little bit of good in him. like when he freezes the space pirates and stops before the battle, or when he is on the edge of the cliff and the ledge. he didn't attack samus why? well, if dark samus had possessed him, all of dark samus's rage must have gone into rundas, then seeing samus as an enemy and that is how the battle began.

Miles07 - November 13, 2008 06:53 AM (GMT)
Yeah, guess you're right there. But, also, that could be attributed to the "hunter" mentality: observe your opponent, then strike at the right time, when all the odds are favorable. That's why he waited until she went to the large area of the Temple of Bryyo.

kenji imatake - November 14, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
It could be that too. I wonder why he doesn't speak at all... he makes a kind of shrieking sound instead.
