Hudson Platt and metroid33 are the same people.

I believe that when they changed their names, the board didnt change the posts.
But my real question is:
How did they change their account names and keep their status?

I got confused by this as well, especially since I was away from the forum for a while. As far as the name change, thats all it is, a mod or admin can change the member name on the forum control panel. They didn't actually create a new account as far as I am aware.

But it seems for some reason the forum is lagging or something. Anyone care to explain? Because I sure can't.

I dunno why the board didn't change the name on all of their posts to their new name...you'd think it would be retroactive like an avatar or signature, but I guess it isn't. In case you were wondering, yes, Shrander once went by the alias "Da Master", and Hudson Platt went by "metroid33". As far as name changes go, if you want one you could send an admin a message asking for one. We don't necessarily like giving them out, since they lead to this kind of confusion, but unless you've done something to really make us really mad, we'll probably give it to you.

If you do get one, we request that you put a message in your signature saying who you were at one point in time. Also, remember how I said that we won't give it to you if you make us mad? Well, people with identity crises make us a little mad, so don't go asking for name changes over and over again. We'll get sick of it real quick, and may just change it to something that we think is really funny. Or we'll just say no. We can be a little volatile like that at times, so try us at your own risk.

I assume the posts aren't actually linked to the user account so it doesn't have to read from the database any more than absolutely necessary, for speed purposes.

speaking of forum stuff, I still don't have that custom title you guys promised me a while back.

I'm willing to except a page for all the MHQ fan art/movies instead

I still don't have a shark keeping licence but I don't care... Although that is completely different. No one promised me anything. A page dedicated to fly_boy would be awesome, I could watch all your movies without leaving the comfort of this site!

well, thanks for explaining. it was slightly confusing at first, because there wasn't a "change name" section in my controls. i was very confused.

A MHQ fan page would attract new people who would say
"oh look at that, all the cool people are cute little cartoon characters, maybe if I'm cool too, I can be a cute little person too"

And other people could submit pretty pretty pictures of the forum goers, like kuro

Yes, well... Ever since I joined, my username (mistakenly?) has been lower-cased. PMs and inquiries to admins have been largely unanswered (no clue why...) to AT LEAST capitalize it.

Is it really too much work for the admins to change the usernames?

I think gendy and MM just don't really feel like it unless it's big enough so that people would notice

I don't ever remember getting a PM asking for your name to be uppercase...small fixes like that I don't have any problem with, and I can actually do that right now since I know you want it.

BACK ON TOPIC: Yeah, it actually IS kinda hard for me to remember who is who from the "olden days" now. I remember Serris changed to SA.01.09 (or something like that), but beyond that I don't recall.

Then from SA.blahblahblah he became Orpheon. I think...
