I'm sure that everyone here likes metroid. (duh) but how much do you like it?

I want the rights to the series.

I love it, but I know it could be better.

My level of enthusiasm and love for the series .. however ..

Can be explained by the Metroid tattooed on the back of my neck.

For my next project, I will create an armored battlesuit, similar to Samus' (or Iron Man's?), and use it to do good deeds and basically end the conflict in Iraq. Once and for freakin' all.

And metroid is not an adventure game, any game that rewards you for shooting everything that moves cannot be called an adventure, it's a shooter.

It depends which game your playing. In Prime 3, the enemies had too many health pickups true.......... but many of its SSS had very few rewards for shooting anytihng that moved. Also, i disagree that Metroid is the last good FPS. I'd agree it is the last good NINTENDO FPS, but If you compare its gameplay and graphics too, say Crysis (Destructable almost everything, as well as some strategic choices, Which suit to wear? Slow but heavy armoured? Or stealthy but less armour) or Halo 3, You would find the Metroid series seriously lacking

Counter-Argument: Play the game in Hyper Mode. You will then see WHY there are so many pick-ups, especially if you use Hyper Mode over 500+ times like I did in one game sitting.

When it comes to shooting, the only real awards Metroid gives you are health/missile pickups, which is consistent through the game. Metroid Prime 3 does give your credits for No. of kills during a game though.

That's the thing, everything is halo except for metroid. Even yatzee agrees

But the emphasis is on exploration. Shooting everything that moves is just a perk that works for the series.
