Title: Metroid Online

Rahyuht - January 23, 2009 06:44 AM (GMT)
This Is gonna sound stupid, but this has always been on my mind.

Why Isn't Metroid an Online god hate to say this.Kinda like a MMORPG.I know It doesn't match the style, not at the least.Fans make games. So why not take It a step further? It's also been done before.Metroid Galaxies-A MMORPG.Think It failed.Graphics were like 2D NES Graphics with like the Gameboy Zelda Style. If It was like Super Metroid though & really Massive I think In a way It could work. The series has so much to work with & they are trying new things these days.So why not?It was an Adventure game & went Into the FPS & It worked!

I don't know.I know this Is kinda stupid,but just a thought I had.Figured I'd share It.Please don't flame.Even though I think It should be lol :)I have for less...

A Metroid MMORPG?

That's...actually not a bad idea. But I can already see like 10 bajillion Samus' running around level grinding/collecting octoliths. It'll probably end up like pinball..

Thats why youd have to compromise with how many people there are with the number of servers.

You could have like 20 servers, and 2000 people, it would be perfect.
Overall i think it would be a good idea, if the right person did it.

You have a problem with spaces and capitalisation, don't you? lmao

I think there was an online Metroid one once, but it was very laggy and nobody really played it lol. I dunno, it was a while ago.

But if there was a big team of people that got together and spent some time on it, id be a pretty good idea.

Spectre - January 24, 2009 07:03 AM (GMT)
...I don't know. It sounds like a good idea, but gamers now probably think Metroid is a pokemon of some sort. It wouldn't be too popular with the masses.

I mean seriously, how many people REALLY like Metroid that much? (Except for us :samus: )

Shrander - January 24, 2009 07:04 AM (GMT)
I know there is a Metroid Online available for download at MFM, but I think it only works over a LAN.

Rahyuht - January 24, 2009 07:16 AM (GMT)
I know I use Capitalization on keywords :)

I think Server Side a Metroid MMORPG could work with 20 or more Servers.Kinda like the way Runescape has It.You can play on any Server anytime.Your Account wouldn't be saved Server Side, but somehow on the Website. While still looking like Super Metroid.

StrafeHunter - January 24, 2009 02:30 PM (GMT)
I think he means you don't put spaces after full stops. But I can't correct people so...

Why doesn't everone here work together to do that? An MHQ communal effort?

I already said that lol

Don't be worrying about how someone is spelling or if they have grammar mistakes ehre and there. Only complain about it if it is bad to a point where you can't even read what they are saying. :P

A community effort for it... would be great, but it would likely turn out like Metroid Evolution. :(

But a 3d style metroid online, like xbox live halo, would be great. If you started out like a low rank and as you killed other players, you leveled up! And you could be either samus, or a commando pirate. And as you acheived amazing feats, you unlocked new cool looking armor for your powere suit like differnt shoulder armor, helmet, arn cannon, and body. And the game types were DeathMatch, Bounty(from Prime 2), Nodes, Capture the Flag, Juggunaut, ect. And it would be a nice feature to have a 3rd person mode and a 1st person mode, to spice up the game to your prefrence. And after you killed an enemy, you had a chance to pick up one of their abilitys, such as ammo, beams, visors, ect.

That would be an awsome game. (As you can see ive been thinking about this idea for a few months now :samus: :samus: )

...I think instead of online, Metroid games should be scary/a little more bloody :)

Gears meets Metroid. Chainsaw Cannon. Chainsaw..MORPHBALL.
I gotta write that down.
...better yet, draw another picture.

But I can see how an online Metroid would work out. And while the RPG-ish elements might help it, they can also kill it.. Also, I think Sylux needs his/her/its own spinoff.
(ps: what was Metroid Evolution about?)

i dont think a gears/metroid would work, but a WAY more violent Metroid would be awsome!

Yeah I didn't mean a tactical, third person Metroid, but one with GORE and GUTS and stuff :D

Yeah, blast a Space Pirate with a super missile, and his limbs go flyin everywhere! ^_^

NO HALO REFERENCES. No blood and gore, either.

Something more like WoW (*shudders...* maybe not, please?) and Spore combined. Like, you'd get to breed (ish) your character's species/genotype/phenotype (ha ha) so that it could be either a fire-resistant rock monster like Spire or a more tribal and earthy kangaroo-like creature (why not?). THEN you can use programed-in limitations (with many thanks to Wikipedia for the information) to provide your character with weaponry and tech. And yeah, like Runescape, you can go around a bounty hunters and get yourself some more upgrades and booty through completing missions and defeating enemies.

Well, that's my idea, at least...

Shrander - January 25, 2009 07:07 PM (GMT)
Would be sweet to have it like WoW, but I see it more likely as happening like Halo, one reason being, there already has been a Metroid mod for Halo Custom Edition. :P

Miles07 - January 26, 2009 05:16 PM (GMT)
Well, why not use that for a base?

Shrander - January 26, 2009 08:18 PM (GMT)
It is just a custom map for Halo. >_>
Game > Map.

Spectre - January 28, 2009 07:36 AM (GMT)
Now that we're talking about mods...

Have you guys seen the Samus mod for UT?
I know it's old news but man...I would seriously buy a PS3 with the game just to play it like that.

Ok back on topic now, before a Metroid ANYTHING, I want to see another 2D/3D game on the DS. Or I guess on the stupid and overrated Wii...
