Title: MZM Low % help topic
Description: I got all your answers

Gendreavus - January 7, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
Okay, I've noticed that many people end up giving up on getting all of the endings in Zero Mission because of the two low % ones. Seeing as these two are my favorite to do, I've made this topic for you people who need help with it. To start off, I will post the list of items I would reccomend getting as your 15%.

Required items:
Morph ball
Missile tank
Morph ball bombs
Unknown item #1
Power Grip
Ice Beam
Unknown item #2
Unknown item #3
Varia suit (you can skip it, but when you get the gravity suit it automatically enters your inventory, so skipping it is useless except on speed runs)

My recommended optional items:
2 Energy tanks
3 Super Missile tanks
Screw Attack

Note 1: If you are going for the Hard 15% ending, swap one super missile tank for the high jump boots as they will help you tremendously during the Mother Brain escape sequence

Note 2: When getting the screw attack be sure you have the varia suit. You will die very quickly in the heated areas of Norfair especially on a low % run.

Note 3: Also, during a speed run, you would skip the Screw Attack (since it is much faster to not get the Varia Suit) and get the Speed Booster (in order to do Kraid w/o ziplines, and because of the speedy nature of it.)

If you have questions on how to skip certain items, post away!

Nah...its already been devoured. Its bubblinf in my stomach acids right now.

Gendreavus - April 17, 2005 06:55 AM (GMT)
Fish sandwiches in a low % MZM run? I think not! Anyway, to skip almost everything in Ridley, when you first enter the area, go through the door on your right and stand on the middle tile of the platform that is three tiles long and shoot one missile and one normal shot straight up. Bomb jump through the hole you just made and then bomb the upper right corner of the little cave thingy and a chain of bricks will disappear. By doing that you essentially skip the whole left side of the Ridley area and all of the items in it.

Crap, I still haven't answered his question, have I? To skip the wave beam you just plain old don't get it. To get into Ridley without it You go to the top of the large green shaft on the right side of Norfair (the part that you have to go through the ice beam room to get into) and shoot a missile at the top right corner of the room. Be careful because the floor about halfway through turns into pit blocks. You can jump from the edge of the real floor to the hole, but if you're not too confident you can freeze one of the enemies in the room while it's on the pit blocks so that you can stand on it. From there you need to bomb jump up until a block disappears, then grab and roll into the hole. Continue bombing the section until you fall into another pit thing. Here you need to wall jump up high enough to see the block blocking you in, then shoot it. When you land, start wall jumping up again and you should make it out through the hole before the block regenerates. From here you just drop until you reach the bottom where you shoot a missile at a pretty obvious block.

Hyperboi4evr - April 28, 2005 01:12 AM (GMT)
ok thanks! ill try it out

ridley4 - May 18, 2005 08:14 PM (GMT)
I have a question. If you dont get the varia like me does your precent go up then you get the fully powered suit?

Gendreavus - May 19, 2005 12:14 AM (GMT)
Yes, you still get the one percent that counts as the varia suit, but you save all the time of getting it. I personally like skipping the Varia suit, but if you're having a hard time beating a pre-Chozo warrior boss it would be a good idea to get it.

ridley4 - May 19, 2005 04:11 PM (GMT)
im a die-hard.So far I was beaten by Ridley without it say like,30 times and I was wondering that having I'm thinking of getting an extra missle tank because I skipped the varia

Gendreavus - May 21, 2005 05:13 AM (GMT)
If you get an extra missile tank make it a Super missile tank. Why have five missiles when you can get the equivelant of 10?

Dragon - May 25, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
Sounds hard, i wouldnt be able to do it.

Gendreavus - May 25, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
It is, but with practice it really works. I've been writing a low % guide for about a year now (I've taken long...long breaks). I'm at the Kraid level so far...I took the Ridley before Kraid route...yeah...

MetaSamus - May 29, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
I wonder what happens when you get 5% items on hard mode...

Gendreavus - May 30, 2005 02:38 AM (GMT)
Well, since 9% is the lowest you can get without cheating (you cheater) I'm assuming that you would get the <15% Hard ending.

MetaSamus - May 30, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
Hmmmm... well the I got 100% items and got the 15% ending thanks to my good ol' Action Replay.

Gendreavus - May 30, 2005 06:21 AM (GMT)
That's 'cuz you'z a cheater. Just like in the RP forum where you had your opponents flee and commit suicide. :P

Obviously you dont have ur facks -------->.

MZM: I did do the 15% thing right the first time, but my stupid friend erased it. So to prevent from doing it over, I just used my action replay.

RP: Dont blame me because moles are wussy.

Gendreavus - June 2, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Fine then, next time I'll make them dragons. Dragons don't run or commit suicide.

Not if I use Dragon repellent.

Hyperboi4evr - October 6, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)
DANG!!!! are there ANY special techniques for mother brain on low percent?

Gendreavus - October 6, 2005 03:30 AM (GMT)
When she is just sitting there, jump at her. When you are right before her, stop the jump and curl into the morph ball. You should be sitting on a little ledge right in front of Mother Brain. You can unroll but DO NOT STAND UP! If you do you will touch her and she will knock you off. While crouching there, you can easily pump missiles into her eye (if easy pump all five normal missiles, then a super, if normal pump four normal, then a super, if hard empty your two missiles then a super missile). You can also easily take out the rinkas that fly at you from there.

ok.... its a little better, but how do u recharge ur ammunition without having to go there back?..... oh and its hard mode

Gendreavus - October 9, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
Time your jumps well to dodge the shots and Mother Brain's laser eye is the best advice I can give you there. It's a tough fight no matter what you do, these are just ways of making it a bit easier.

For more help on 15% completion, go to maw28's Zero Mission 15% Walkthrough / 100% FAQ. Don't worry, he is a friend of mine and he gave me permission. Be sure to read the rules and contact him for anything else!

Da Master - December 3, 2005 05:42 AM (GMT)
I think Samus has a lot of brain damage....you know...when she gos into the boost jump, crouch, then jumps up, and slams her head on the ceiling.....mainly in Fusion...

miles07 - December 6, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
Well, Samus does get hurt in Super Metroid when ever she blasts off...

MaxPwnage - February 22, 2006 04:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah, have you ever shinesparked with 26 health in a wide open space? It looks like Samus is hitting her head on an invisible wall  .

I could do that all day long, it never stops being funny!

Kraid 2 cool - March 5, 2006 09:04 PM (GMT)
I got a a problem whith Mother brain on low%, that means just one of each eexpensions exept power bombs. I would say that my % is...9 or something.

dreadmaster - June 2, 2006 04:50 PM (GMT)
