Title: Fire Emblem
Metroidude - May 23, 2009 12:10 AM (GMT)
I love Fire Emblem! It rocks!
I find it annoying when you have to restart the level just for one guy dieng... REALLY FRUSTRATING!
I love fire emblem though! Almost as much as Strafe loves TF2!
Let's talk about Fire Emblem!
If you haven't guessed the topic yet, It's fire emblem.
Am I starting to sound like stuck in the drive through by Weird al yankovich?

I haven't played all the Fire Emblem games, but the ones I have played (Fire Emblem (the one with Eliwood), Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance) are really good. I'm thinking to get Shadow Dragon soon to.
And yes its really annoying to start over when a character die, yes I know you don't have to, but I really like having everyone ^_^

Ditto. Don't you hate it when they always attack the weakest character first? Drives me CRAZY!!

That's a little something that shows the good AI in the games. IT also means that your leaving a weak point in your Phalanx.

Yeah, I tend to have good formation when I go into battle. keep my weaker characters behind the front lines, and then I usually let them get the last blow in for exp. I really don't like it when enemy reinforcements appear behind you, though. Then I have to battle on two fronts while keeping my lower-defense characters alive.

I try to keep a box or diamond formation. I'm pretty sure that usually the reinforcements that appear are weak, I usually place the weaker units in a position were their combined might can wipe out reinforcements before they become a problem, and give them a healer so they won't get killed. Always two with healing capabilities, that's my opinion
oh yeah, look through archives for a thread revival before starting a new one
old fire emblem thread

oh... My bad... I didn't join yet though! I should have... But who likes digging up old topics anyway?
Anyway... I'll post this, and if an admin thinks it's that big of a deal, I'll post in the other. Besides, if you bring up an old topic, people yell at you anyway!
Back to Fire Emblem:
In chapter 9 on Path of Radiance, is there a way to keep the pirate from destroying the first house? The one on the beach?

I have played some of the Fire Emblem games and own a few of them. It is annoying when you loose a character and restart everything...escpecially when the level is quite hard.
What is your favorite character class in the games? I like the Mamkutes (from Fire Emblem 6), and the Manaketes ( from Fire Emblem 8.) Yes, I'm a dragon fanatic. Idoun from FE6 is my favorite character. Her backstory is rather sad though. I won't go into detail so I won't give away any spoilers for those who haven't played it yet.
Fire Emblem 8 is so easy to beat. To me, the Demon King is easier to beat than the Fire Dragon in Fire Emblem 7. I could go on...but I'll stop there for now, but Fire Emblem is a great game to play. I'd recommend it for players looking for a new game to add to thier collection. ^_^

Swordmasters are my favorite class, no contest.
enough speed that their nearly impossible to hit, enough skill that they always hit, enough speed that they always hit twice, and enough skill that they can push their crit rate up to 30 without a killer weapon.
Guy, Navarre, and Joshua were my most used characters in the three fire emblems I've played.
i haven't played the console Fire emblems, The way they modified the class systems, took away the over the top combat animations, and added the whole "Skill" system was a little too much for me, also I enjoyed just being able to whip out my handheld and play a few turns in between classes, great time killer for breaks when you don't have friends to talk to. also, the fact that it auto suspends when ever you turned off the game in FE7 and FE8 was incredibly handy.
Lactor - May 25, 2009 02:35 AM (GMT)
I like the Swordmasters. Only problem is that since the enemies in Path of Radiance are much faster, they aren't quite as valuable. Mia was still awesome though. My only complaint is their sometimes low strength. I've gotten RNG screwed with strength on Myrmidons and Swordmasters numerous times.
I'd say the manaketes in FE8 are my favorites as well. I didn't break out myrrh unti the last level, where she got all the way to L20 with very little effort.
My all time favorite class? Sage. Mostly because they tend to have kickass magic ratings, especially if you have the right characters with that class. My sages were Nino for FE7, Lute for FE8, and Soren for FE9. Almost nothing can stand in their way once you give them the right tome. (Heck, Soren became unstoppable with ElThunder. Didn't need to even give him Tornado or RexBolt.)
Metroidude - May 25, 2009 01:32 PM (GMT)
It's just that Sages can't take physical beating. If Titania were to attack Soren? Dead. That is, of course, assuming that they were on opposite sides.
locustofchiron - May 25, 2009 06:53 PM (GMT)
It depends on who attacks first.
If Soren got the first attack, then it wouldn't be a contest
not to mention, assuming they were both level 20, Soren would be able to take out titania without a problem. Titania is a terrible character, know if you were talking about a person who doesn't suck, then yes, it would be adifferent story

Favourite class.... that must be Sniper they own ranged witch is my favourite, but I hate it when they get close-range attacked. I also like the Hero class the shield with the sword or axw behind is really cool!
Lactor - May 27, 2009 03:02 AM (GMT)
Yeah, the hero class is awesome. Good strength, speed, skill, and decent defense. I think they're one of the most kickass classes in the games.
And I tend to make sure to put my sages in a spot where they aren't going to get hit by physical attacks. FE is a strategy game after all, and each class fares differently depending on the situation. Very rarely do I leave characters in a situation where they're going solo.
