Ign had this video game countdown here about the top 100 best games in the world. Super Metroid is #10.Do you guys agree with this? Should we make our own countdown?

I Do think Suoer Metroid Should have been a little higher but most of them i agree with but you could still do your own countdown that never hurts

Ok. I'll guess i'll do my own countdown. But it's going to be my opinion so don't get mad if you don't see anything you like.

Making a countdown is a waste of time, leave it to the judging professionals.

It's fair. There isn't any need to raise it up higher.

someone needs to make a top XX list rating games based solely on their own merits.
the top 3 of this list wouldn't even appear on it. And yet super metroid would still be #10.

I think someone needs to do a "Most Influential Games" list...I'm fairly sure that Super Metroid would be in the top 3 of that...But for the list of "Best Games Ever", I'd say #9 would do it justice. So I'm on the fence on this one.

Personally, I like Metroid Prime(s) better than Superoid, but it definatly deserves top 10.
I think making a countdown would be useless. Leave it to places like IGN.

I think it's one of the best 2d metroid game but fusion and zero mission are up there with superoid.

best 3d would be prime1 and 2.

I disagree with 2. The best 3D metroid games are Primes 1 and 3.

Super Metroid deserves #10. If not, it could be higher.

I will say, however, that I like Metroid Fusion more than Super Metroid... Mainly because I hold more memories with it and I really love the twists in the story. I personally think that Fusion should be in these "Best Video Games" lists (it probably is, but not high enough) because it pushed the Game Boy Advance as a system like no other and it still holds up today with minimal aging like Super Metroid. I also love how Fusion had little technical touches that amplified the production quality (a la raindrops on the visor in Prime) like subtle sound effects and little animations in the backgrounds that made everythig feel alive. It was an example of TRUE brilliant game developing on a handheld system. Anyway, that's just my opinion. I must be in a huge minority by saying Fusion is better than Super.... Oh well. ^_^

For me I guess Super Metroid will be a second, the best Metroid game is "Prime I", Super Metroid has it all! Decent 2D graphics, extremely good story line, and even better play value. I could have played it 10 times in a row and I would get tired of playing it. It is that good, same goes with Prime :D
