MHQ FORUM RULES

• Please do not use crude or obscene language in anything you post. Censored versions of curse words are allowed if not directed to any members.
  
• Any references to drugs, murder/death, sex, or alcohol used in an immature manner will not be tolerated.
  
• Please don't spam excessively or flame anyone, or you will be punished. Going slightly off topic is allowed but posting one word posts or changing the subject unexpectedly is considered spam. Double posting is not allowed, please use the edit button instead.
  
• Topics older than what are shown on the first page may be bumped only if the topic was left open-ended and you have something you'd like to contribute to the topic.
  
• Absolutely DO NOT post any links or references to any illegal program, site, or service. This includes but is not limited to ROMs and emulators, pirated music or movies, peer-to-peer network sites, xgmx's website, and bittorrents.
  
• Do not post personal information about other people without their personal consent, and even then with that, it should be them that gives it, not you.
  
• While you are allowed to express your own opinion about a matter, do not immaturely criticize someone else's opinion. When expressing your opinion you should not attack the other person directly.
  
• DO NOT STEAL anyone’s work, ALWAYS give credit. If we find out you have claimed something you haven’t done as yours we will moderate your posts and you will lose the community’s trust.
  
• Use the Personal Message or e-mail if you wish to discuss a prohibited subject with another member, or chat with another member.
  
• The avatar size limit is 160x160, and the signature size limit is 547x160. Do not post massive images, PM an administrator or moderator if you need an image re-sized.
  
• The punishment you receive will depend on the severity of your offense. Some offenses we will not tolerate such as stealing work, others we will be lenient on such as double posting by a new member. Please be free to contact any administrator or moderator if you have a question or comment, we are here to help.
  
• When making a post, we request that you make it using proper grammar and spelling. While it's understandable if you just don't know the right punctuation mark or don't know how to spell a word, typing something like, "im makin a c00l new topic look @ me. u can post hear 2 if u want," is not recommended. Of course, if you don't know English well, then we'll be very lenient on this rule.
  
• Images, HTML, etc. are allowed to be posted. However, do not post something that is so big that it stretches the pages. The most common infringement of this rule is made by posting large images. Please, to the best of your ability, re-size it to a width of 547 pixels or less, or post a thumbnail with a link to the full size image. If you do not know how to do this, ask any active member and they will gladly show you how.
  
• Our moderator Anubis requests all members to keep it real.

I have a question. The rules say nothing about avatar limits, so I can use 100x100 or bigger, right? Or not?

As far as I can tell. Just don't make rediculously huge avatars and stuff. As long as it fits nicely.

And what exactly is MM's definition of "fits nicely"? I have seen forums where this counts as an avatar. Does it count in MHQ?

NOTE: I'm not wearing something THAT big. It's just an example.

EDIT: The picture was too big for direct showing...

I would say "fits nicely" means fitting into that little box on the left. Just so it doesn't try to extend the user bio part of the post box.

100x100 is perfectly fine, If the forums gives you any problems with that size of an avatar, just let me know.

So I'm getting kinda tired from all the images that stretch the board. New rule added as of 9/29/08.
